Broadmeadows Aquatic and Leisure Centre raising the floor with MaxiSWIM

FRP Floor Grating

In 2016, Hume City Council had an initiative to reduce the pool depth at Broadmeadows Aquatic and Leisure Centre from 1.3 metres to 1 metre.

This was primarily to provide more flexibility for pool management to increase usage and learn to swim programs.

Composite Engineering were happy to assist with the design work and supply of the MaxiSWIM system. The system utilises MaxiSTRUCT profiles for the substructure and MaxiGRATE FRP grating for the surface.

The MaxiSWIM system is suitable for permanent submersion in water.

In 2021 we were invited back to refresh the grating with a different colour MaxiGRATE and add in lines to match with the existing lines.

The new white MaxiGRATE panels were installed without the need to drain the pool.

The new grating was installed on to the existing MaxiSTRUCT FRP substructure. Which is still in excellent condition after been submerged in chlorine rich water for 4 years.

Lines were added to the new grating, to align with the existing tiles portion of the pool.

The final results looks very impressive and the lines match up perfectly. If you would like more information on the MaxiSWIM system or MaxiGRATE and MaxiSTRUCT products, please contact us today and our team will be happy to help with you.
