On a building project, access structures need to go in quickly, meet the standard and then be forgotten about. Composite Engineering’s FRP grating, handrail systems and structural profiles are lightweight, easy to install and need very little maintenance once they are in. Common uses include roof access walkways, plant platforms, access ramps, stairs and handrails.

Roof Access Walkways and Plant Platforms

Conventional metal walkways are heavy and awkward to get onto a roof. Our FRP walkways and roof access walkways are engineered from FRP profiles and grating to install faster, directly to the roof panels without damage. The anti-slip surfaces meet and exceed Australian Standards, and there is no ongoing maintenance.

FRP Grating for Stairs, Ramps and Floors

MaxiGRATE FRP grating is available in a range of non-slip finishes, from a concave surface with no grit through to standard grit. It is used for roof access walkways, slip-resistant stair treads and access ramps.

Standard colours are safety yellow, light grey, dark grey and green, and any colour in the RAL range is available on request. See the RAL colour chart.

Handrails and Ladders That Meet the Standard

MaxiRAIL handrails are a modular system. Work out how many posts and rails you need and we can have the off-the-shelf parts ready for dispatch the next day, with assembly instructions. The total installed cost is often comparable to galvanised steel once labour and equipment are counted.

MaxiLADDER FRP ladders are designed to AS 1657-2018 and drawn in CAD from your site measurements before assembly. Options include cages for ladders extending more than 2 metres above the ground, landings, and retractable walk-throughs for indoor roof access points.

FRP Structural Profiles in Place of Steel

MaxiSTRUCT structural profiles carry the loads of steel and aluminium at a fraction of the weight, and are easy to fabricate and install on site. The standard range includes square tube, round tube, channel, I beam, H beam and equal angle. Custom profiles can be made to suit your loads.
