Commercial Fishery Platforms
Working with a large commercial fishery in Queensland. The scope was to replace all of the fishery platforms with a product that is low maintenance and cost effective.
Safety was also a key factor in the scope of the product supplied. Composite Engineering designed and produced a structure that suited the needs of both the employer and the employee regarding safety.
The salty marine environment can be extremely harsh and corrosive to many building materials such as timber, steel and concrete. So material selection is critical to delivering a low maintenance product.
The subframe of the structures is constructed from MaxiSTRUCT FRP profiles. With MaxiGRATE FRP grating, with a non-slip grit finish for the surface. Allowing workers to safely walk without slipping even in the wet. The structures for finished with MaxiRAIL FRP handrail system.

All MaxiGRATE, MaxiSTRUCT and MaxiRAIL products offer excellent corrosion resistance even in marine environments. Making them the ideal choice for fishery platforms.
All of the products are also UV resistant, so they will continue to look and perform excellently for many years.
The completed platforms require virtually no maintenance. The lightweight nature of the final structures makes them easy and quick to install.
Overall delivering a cost effective and long lasting installation.
