Public infrastructure has to last for decades with as little maintenance as possible, and it often has to be installed around live rail lines, roads or power. FRP is lighter than steel, does not conduct electricity and does not rust. Used on their own or together, our MaxiGRATE, MaxiRAIL, MaxiLADDER and MaxiSTRUCT systems cover everything from modular footbridges to insulated access in high voltage substations.

FRP Bridges and Rail Structures

Weight is where FRP changes a project. At Banyo Station we built a 6 tonne FRP footbridge where the steel equivalent would have weighed 21 tonnes, over a live 25,000V rail line. Read the Banyo Station case study.

FRP for Substations and Electrical Sites

FRP is non-conductive, which makes it suited to walkways, platforms and handrails near live equipment. See our MaxiGRATE project at Holmesglen substation.

FRP cable ladders are non-conductive and non-magnetic, and are used in power plants and other large installations.

Grating, Walkways and Handrails for Public Assets

MaxiGRATE FRP grating replaces rotting timber on walkways and jetties, and comes in a range of mesh sizes to suit pedestrian areas. All fixings are 316 stainless steel.

MaxiSTRUCT profiles are engineered into structural assemblies, including:

Engineered and Load-Tested

Every assembly is designed and load-tested to suit the site and its structural requirements. We use Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and physical load testing, and can run project-specific tests in-house at our factory. Structures are built in modules, which keeps transport economical and shortens the time needed on site.
